Add A splash OF Dolce Vita

The Twist that elevates every trip!

At Spritzience, you’ll find blog posts reimagining experiential travel — from the best Christmas markets in Europe to Italy’s wine regions, timeless destinations, and cocktail culture worth traveling for. Each experience is shaped through an affordable luxury lens, where the details make all the difference.

We travel with our motto in mind: adding a splash of dolce vita. That “splash” might be a signature dish that turns dinner into a memory, a boutique hotel where design sets the mood, a museum that inspires a detour, a chic beach club with incredible views, or a festival woven into the journey. With a focus on heritage, food and wine, and artisanal design, Spritzience highlights cultural experiences that feel both fun and authentic.

Festivals & Events

Some trips are about more than sights — they’re about cultural experiences that connect you to the spirit of a place. From Verona’s open-air opera to Sicily’s colorful Carnivals, I plan journeys around events that turn towns into living stages. These are the moments — filled with music, tradition, and food — that linger long after you return home.

Food, Wine & Cocktail Culture

The best foodie travel experiences are the ones where meals and cocktails deepen your connection to a place — through fresh ingredients and unforgettable settings. A dinner in a design-forward restaurant, a glass of wine in the landscape where it’s grown, or a cocktail in a bar with vintage charm can make a destination come alive.

Timeless Destinations

I seek out Europe travel destinations where history and heritage shape the experience — places with striking architecture, sweeping views, and museums that reveal something unique. It’s also about tasting regional dishes, visiting producers who handmake pasta, and olive oils, and stepping into ateliers where creativity is on display. These are the trips where I feel most connected, and where I often find treasures to bring home — each carrying the spirit of the place.

Italy Wine Regions

I always look forward to a visit to one of Italy’s three UNESCO-listed wine regions, because they’re as much about the food as the wine. In the Langhe, Barolo and Barbaresco share hillsides with medieval towns, castles. Val d’Orcia is soulful — Brunello paired with hearty pastas in stone towns where dinners stretch into the evening. And the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano? Pure sparkle. Terraced vineyards climb the slopes, and part of the fun is stopping at cellars perched above the valleys to sip prosecco steps from where it’s grown.

Best Christmas Markets

European Christmas Markets are enchanting— the scent of spiced wine, the sparkle of twinkling lights, and the hum of locals meeting friends under decorated façades.

Over the past decade, I’ve visited more than 40 cities and towns across 7 countries for Christmas markets. What keeps me coming back isn’t just the shopping — it’s the chance to soak in the culture of the cities that host them. I’m sharing details on my favorites in my full guide to the Best Christmas Markets in Europe — click through and start planning with my experiential travel tips.

ABOUT ME

I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT Experiential Travel

I’m a New Yorker who’s lived in Switzerland, Germany, and now Italy, with more than 60 countries behind me. The spark for Spritzience came when I moved to Italy and wanted to experience as many cultural experiences as possible.

Soon I was planning trips for my Italian family, often built around a cultural experience, a design-forward boutique hotel, or a heritage destination I had visited and wanted to share. Those trips became known as “the ones only Chris could plan,” and that’s when I realized I should share them more widely. I’ve developed an affordable luxury travel style that builds in memorable meals, and authentic local traditions.
